World Book Day at CPS
World Book Day at CPS
World Book Day was celebrated a little differently this year at Claygate Primary School. Instead of lavish character costumes, the children were asked to come in to school wearing their favourite pajama, bringing in a teddy and of course their favourite book. All classrooms were filled with very happy children learning in their most warm and comfortable attire, teddy bears and books in hand. And the afternoon saw some of the youngest and eldest children at Claygate being paired up for 'big buddy-little buddy' reading in the school hall. Deputy Headteacher, Hilary Ali, said, the school wanted to moved to an idea that 'levelled the playing field' and allowed all children to participate in World Book Day with reading at the heart of what was most important.
Thank you to all who contributed a pound to help make this day a great success and raise much needed funds for our school.
